Coromandel Cycle Tour

The Pacific Coast Highway is one of the great touring routes of the world. We take you on the stunning portion of the highway that showcases the Coromandel Peninsular.

With it's spectacular coastline, beautiful beaches, rugged volcanic hills, native rainforest and historic towns this unspoiled region is one of New Zealand's most popular holiday destinations. The Peninsular also has some of New Zealand's best weather, making it a year round destination. Temperatures reach 24-31 Celsius in the summer months and average around 12-14 Celsius in winter.

Overview of route

This holiday is a delight, commencing at the historic goldmining town of Thames we take the scenic western side of the Pacific Coast Highway to the town of Coromandel. The route then heads inland traveling to the tranquil beach settlements in Mercury Bay. From Mercury Bay you cycle down the spectacular east coast of the Peninsular to Pauanui. The east coast is remarkably different from the west coast with hundreds of bays and idyllic beaches; don't forget to dig your own hot pool at Hot Water Beach. From Pauanui you return inland cycling through the towering rainforests back to Thames.

•  start and finish in Coromandel Township
